Last week our interns, Rob and Joe spent time assisting our Manufacturing Department and engaging with customers at our headquarters in Troy, Michigan at the Customer Pickup Counter. This allows time for them to become more familiar with the wide variety of MRO products we sell.
“So far, my time with Terminal has been full of learning. From ride along’s with Outside Sales Account Managers in the field, to learning the operations of the Customer Service Department. It’s been one interesting day after another. My biggest takeaway so for is how open and supportive everyone has been; whether it’s Scott Leslie, the President of the company, or the various sales reps we have shadowed over the last few weeks. Everyone has welcomed us with open arms. This is how I envisioned Terminal Supply to be prior to starting here; a rapidly growing company that has still maintained its family-like culture”. (Joe Sliger, TSC Intern 2018).
This week, our staff and interns are in preparation for TSC who heads to the 21st annual Snow and Ice Symposium (SIMA) trade show from June 28-29 in Cleveland, Ohio. TSC has 30+ reps who service the snowbelt states and a vast group of our customers are snow and ice equipment manufacturers and suppliers. You will find us at Booth #243!
For the past two weeks, we’ve hosted our Summer Interns at headquarters in Troy, MI. Before coming to HQ; they had the opportunity to ride with our Outside Sales team in Ohio and Michigan.
Over the next two months they will be learning behind the scenes of what makes Terminal Supply, the company we are today.
Working alongside our Business Development Department, they will be tasked with a multitude of projects, ultimately assisting our TSC sales force.
A few notes from Intern Rob on his first few weeks…..
“The past four weeks here at Terminal have been simply amazing. I could start by saying how much I’ve already learned in my short span of time on the road and here in HQ.
However, I would like to start off by mentioning the great company culture that exists here at TSC. Being the new guy is often hard trying to fit into a new setting, especially a company with such rich history and impressive talent. With that in mind, I will be the first to say that I have not once felt out of place. In fact, it seems to me that every employee here at TSC embraces the fact that this company is family owned and operated, which allows for that tight-knit culture on campus. Two weeks in, I feel that I am an honorary member of the Terminal Supply family. I’ve been able to participate in just about every Department here including; Inside Sales, Manufacturing, Outside Sales, Customer Pick Up Counter & even pulling some orders in the Shipping Warehouse!

This year, we are celebrating something very special. Three of our employees have reached their 40 year mark at Terminal Supply! Congrats to Mary, Kim, and Melissa! Here at Terminal Supply, it’s always a joy to see people reach these kind of benchmarks. We strive to cultivate a welcoming and friendly environment for all TSC staff.
To celebrate our hard-working staff, we will be heading down to Comerica Park to watch the Tigers take on the Boston Red Sox. Go Tigers! Hopefully, it’s a nice sunny day out because we have something in the works for all TSC attendees: TSC will be hosting an employee contest for whoever takes the best picture. Winner gets a day off. Isn’t that neat? We think so. Be sure to check out LinkedIn and this blog for the winner of the contest!
